Client: Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA)
Project Title: MCIA Systems Integration Support
Hardware Environments: Various hardware
Software Environments: Various software

Project Summary:

Support the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) with the challenge of integrating emerging information management technology enhancements into its production and dissemination processes. The ultimate goal of this effort is to better provide targeted intelligence information to support Operating Forces fighting the Global War on Terrorism. The over-all effort involves integration of the Distributed Collaborative Metadata Tagging (DCMT) system, which handles and disseminates MCIA-held content, with the Advanced Distributed Search (ADS) system that is targeted toward finding content owned and held in other agencies’ databases. Complete system integration involves enhancing functionality to the DCMT system to create and maintain local metadata tags that are linked to external products. The functionality changes to DCMT will extend the capabilities of the Advanced Distributed Search system to search legacy content that has been tagged by DCMT. Integration of these two projects provides the most operationally relevant information to Operating Forces in a structure and format that meets mission needs.
