Project Summary:
provided support to NCTS Washington in the development of application software and life cycle maintenance for their message dissemination products and subsystems. Operation on a Local Area Network (LAN), the MDS is the automated solution for delivering organizational messages directly to the user's desktop. CNO mandated that Navy communications drastically reduce its dependence on paper as a means of message exchange because of enormous cost associated with creating hard copies of messages for entry and distribution. The automated message handling system (AMHS) programs provide many opportunities to automate or to upgrade messaging capabilities and to provide a total electronic writer-to-reader message service using Local Area Networks and Personal Computer Terminals. |
